Where to Get Great Wholesale Products
One of the most challenging aspects of starting a new business is choosing a product the public wants to buy. Once you think you've found it, you as a seller want to spend as little as possible to get it. There are many resources available to locate inexpensive wholesale products.
A great place to find free material which you can browse at your leisure is at your local library. Resources vary according to the branch, so it's a good idea to call ahead if you have something specific in mind. The downtown branch of the San Diego Public Library has a complete reference library of domestic and international wholesale guides and directories. You'll find them in the business and social sciences section on the third floor.
Close-outs are HOT swap meet items. The Closeout Sources Directory lists all types of suppliers of merchandise at bargain prices. It includes information on how to buy overstock items, irregulars, and seconds. The USA Wholesale Sources Directory is a 63-page, fully illustrated guide which lists hundreds of suppliers. The guide lists state side importers, manufacturers and wholesalers who sell products in small or large lots.
There are also many international wholesale buying guides available including the Mexico Trade Directory, Philippine Trade Directory, Hong Kong Trade Directory, Orient Trade Directory and the Taiwan Trade Directory.

When you walk into Kobey's corporate office you'll find publications specifically geared towards supplying swap meet vendors.
